Twin Thermal Source Evaporator

SMC-15E

Utilizing the Pulse and Flash methods to enhance precision while minimizing potential heat damage to the sample, the choice between Carbon Fiber or Carbon Rod is determined by preference.

Features

  • Utilization of Various Carbon Sources: The Upward method with Two Thermal Sources allows the attachment of two Carbon Sources—Carbon Fiber and Rod—tailored to the user's needs. This provides the convenience of using Carbon Fiber and the advantage of forming high-quality films using Carbon Rod. With two thermal sources in place, it enables the formation of thick films in a single process. Additionally, by attaching a thermal source at the lower end, the Upward method ensures that the deposition coating progresses towards the sample at the upper end, preventing contamination of the sample with carbon particles.

  • Automatic Coating in Flash and Pulsed Mode: The conventional Flash method can cause thermal damage to samples susceptible to heat during the thermal evaporation process. By using the Pulsed mode and configuring Fire time, interval time, and the number of Fires, uniform film formation can be achieved automatically without thermal damage.

  • Film Deposition Controlled by Thickness Monitor: Configuring Thermal Fire time, interval time, and the number of Fires during the coating process allows for automatic termination when the targeted film thickness is reached.

  • Deposition Utilizing Rotation–Tilt Stage (optional module): For porous or three-dimensional-shaped samples, using a stage with Tilt (0–45 degrees) and Rotation capabilities enables uniform and three-dimensional coating. This capability helps suppress the charging effect observed during electron microscopy observations.

Two Source
Options

Carbon Fiber and Rod can be equipped with two Carbon Sources according to the user's needs, providing convenience in usage. Carbon Fiber offers a user-friendly option, while Carbon Rod has the advantage of enabling high-quality film formation when used together. With two heat sources installed, it is possible to form thick films in a single process. Additionally, by attaching the heat source at the bottom, upward deposition coating is applied to the sample located on the top, preventing carbon debris from contaminating the sample.
